I am dying to freshen up my handbag assortment at the moment… taking inspiration from some of these amazing clutches that totally transform an outfit. I am also warming up to the idea of using a bright over-sized purse during the day (instead of lugging a huge bag around)! Thoughts?
Nothing screams luxury (and warmth) quite like a beautiful fur. I think that everyone needs at least one gorgeous fur in their closet. I look forward to going back to the East Coast especially so I can wear my furs (as they tend to be way too heavy and garner lots of odd looks here in LA).

Ready to make a purchase? There are two cruelty-free options: vintage for faux.
When purchasing a vintage fur, it’s worth the money to buy it from a reputable vintage shop, who has (hopefully) sifted out any furs that are not in good condition. You should still be looking for fit (I find that often they are way too big and bulky through the shoulders), signs of rot or decay (it should feel supple when you bend the material, not brittle), and you should make sure it is free of tears, rips and shedding.
Faux furs are amazing, and you are able to find a great quality much more easily than an actual vintage fur. My recommendation here is to stick with a neutral color, as the brighter costumes look more fake and can even go towards costumey. Current favorites for faux are BSABLE (sold at Dash, Revolve Clothing, and Elyse Walker), and Rachel Zoe (Neiman Marcus, Piperlime, and Nordstrom).

I am loving feather skirts for Holiday. It almost makes sense to wear them in December (in a way you just can’t justify in say, the middle of summer).

To keep the skirt looking chic and not too costume like, consider the following:
-Shoes should be simple (but tall!). A sleek heel or even a simple black bootie is perfect. You can’t do a statement shoe with this skirt!
-Pair it with a tee, tank, or even a sweatshirt to give it more of an ever-day look. I love how cute a simple grey sweatshirt is tucked in. A striped tee could be really cute too!
-If the skirt is looking too drastic, consider pairing with a blazer, fitted field jacket, or a leather over it
-For nighttime, keep it simple with a plain blouse or top, maybe a statement necklace? A leather blouse or tank could add an interesting contrast in texture. I love the idea of a bold or ornate belt around the waist to define the skirt also!
-Ostrich feathers are super light and fluffy feathers, and are much easier to work with than other types of feathers that are more defined (and could look too bird-like)

More chic than a ballet flat, more feminine than an oxford… I am really into smoking flats this Fall.
Del Toro offers everything from glitter to skulls to stars and other patterns, and has a custom monogram option as well.

Not understanding pink ombre, white hair, and half shaved heads right now. Whatever happened to looking like a lady, especially when beautiful Fall fashion is upon us? Rosie, Natalie, Audrina and Sienna getting the perfect, natural blonde right here…
I am sick of patterned, crazy and in your face denim at the moment. I know it is still trending big time, but I am still recovering from thinking that highlighter yellow was ever a good idea!
Winter to me means sleek, beautiful clothing, which brings me to one of my favorite staple pieces- the leather legging…
One of my favorite AU brands, One Teaspoon, enlisted one of my favorite models, Erin Wasson, for their new “Love Cats” campaign.
The lookbook was shot in Venice CA, and features Wasson playing on the beach, drinking beer, and hanging out at a convenience store, all while sporting her signature disheveled yet glamorous look. This was shot by One Teaspoon designer Jamie Blakey and photographer Ben Sullivan.
The Love Cats collection features everything from metallic leathers to frayed denim to easy tees and should be available later this month. You can check out their other collections here (they ship to the US).
I am always excited to check out new brands that aren’t always easily available to everyone here in the states, and a few years back I discovered River Island while I was shopping for a fun dress to wear to a wedding (they are currently available on Asos.com).
I was really excited today when Rihanna announced that she will be collaborating with the brand on a capsule collection for SS13. Her amazing style plus their fashion forward and trend-driven pieces are about to push my wardrobe into overload!
A few of my favorite pieces from the River Island Pre-Fall collection, available now:
embellished tunic dress. £70.00
black tasseled bucket bag, £40.00
embellished collar statement necklace, £28.00
peplum waist detail dress, £40.00
